Love this, as it is so true. When you put a bit more time into yourself, and allow that confidence to shine through you..it's like you glow. I remember when I first started exploring my style when I got into college, and that was the best decision I ever made. I would go to 8 am classes, in fun artsy outfits a couple of days out of the week, and I'd do it again haha! But do I need to drink more water...yes, yes I do.
Thank you 💕 I had to tackle this topic because I landed on the wrong side of the clock app and I kept seeing women say things about beauty standards. I understand the term ugly, but there’s also no such thing in my opinion. It’s a mindset and when it comes to relationships both friendly and/or romantic everyone has a type — their own beauty standards. Healing has a lot of inner work and I love that you said you would dress artsy again, lol! We all need to drink more water 😂😂😂
Heavy on the turn self criticism into self empowerment. I believe everyone has their own style and that’s perfectly ok. You have to know what you love and stick with that not someone else standard of beauty. Stripping naked and becoming vulnerable with yourself is a different kind of self love. You see all the hidden parts of you. Getting rid of things that no longer fit you or your style is important. I can say as a mom of 3 I let myself go and I recently started pouring back into me and it feels so amazing. Skincare is my a time favorite!
I asked 8 of my closet friends have they looked in the mirror completely naked and what thoughts came to mind as a self love experiment. To my surprise, as confident as most of them are, they didn't realize how much they needed to cater to themselves because everything is always covered -- or minimal but still covered to hide parts they don't love.
Getting real starts with understanding we're all flawed but we're also all beautiful. Letting yourself go probably has a lot attach to it, especially through motherhood (I'm writing about that also) but it's important that you recognize the YOU outside of your titles.
You got this! Also, skincare is so fun, especially when you can take your time. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was everything 🙌🏾 very informative and I agree that nobody is ugly some people just don't know how to see your soul. ✨️ physically socially acceptable beauty is one thing but soul deep and pouring from inside out is even better. Also, Acknowledging divine timing because skincare was on my recent list to level up 🧚🏾♀️ so thanks for the tips! 🫶🏾
